Salesforce is moving ahead full steam with new, exciting features and updates for Winter 2023! Here are a few of our favorite standout features and please reach out to MXA Solutions if you ever need assistance with your Salesforce implementation
1. Prepare for Multi-Factor Authentication Auto-Enablement
Many of us heard about Salesforce’s MFA requirement in February 2022 when it became enforced to access Salesforce products. However, starting in the first half of 2023, all users must use MFA when logging into Salesforce whether they are logging in through SSO or logging in directly. To make the transition a little easier, Salesforce will automatically enable this feature and make it a permanent part of logging into Salesforce.
2. Custom Address Fields Are Now Generally Available
Previously, when creating an address on a custom object, we would use separate custom fields for Billing Street, City, State, Zip Code, etc. However, Salesforce has made Address fields available now on custom objects!
3. Long Awaited Dynamic Forms on Standard Objects
Dynamic Forms has been a wonderful feature that allows us to customize record pages, giving us the ability to display/hide certain fields/sections depending on an attribute, profile, or permission set. Previously only available on custom objects, Salesforce will be extending this feature to standard objects like Accounts, Contacts, and Opportunities.
4. Flows Are the Future!
Workflows will no longer be available starting Winter 2023. While all good things must come to an end, one powerful way to create automations in Salesforce is through Flows. Flows allow us to create simple or complex solutions that can transform your business processes. Unlike Workflows that always run behind the scenes, Flows can be in the forefront as guided screens to assist users through a business process.
5. Track Your To-Do List in One Place
It is easy to feel overwhelmed with all of our to-do items floating around in our minds. However, with Salesforce’s new release, tasks can be added and stored in the utility bar. This list stays docked in the corner of your screen and is visible no matter where you navigate to in Salesforce. This gives users a way to see, sort and organize all the tasks assigned to them in one view.
