In part two of our series, we look two additional recommendations to improve user training and ensure Salesforce project success. If you missed part one, click here to read more.
Tip #3: Clear and Thorough Training Materials
It is important for training materials, whether documents, videos, or sessions, to be clear and detailed using actual screenshots of the functionality. Ensure you store all training materials in an easy to access location to enable self-learning opportunities for end users. To bolster utilization of these materials, office hours are another great idea to provide guidance to users on how to use the training materials and provide additional training support. The small group setting can give struggling end users a chance to ask questions they may not be able to in larger training sessions or to focus on understanding a specific aspect of their daily work.
Tip #4: Remove Roadblocks as They Arise
Ensuring you address and clear roadblocks as they arise, ensures a smooth path for future training. If a user remembers a poor experience with a previous new implementation, they are more likely to associate any other new processes with the same poor experience. Being proactive and addressing issues early on can create a better experience overall and less hesitation to adopt future changes. We recommend that you develop an additional feedback mechanism, such as an anonymous survey, to facilitate user feedback after training completion to identify opportunities to further optimize your efforts and drive long-term user adoption.
Change can be difficult for everyone, but with the right approach and emphasis on user training success, a difficult transition can be a little easier on everyone.
